FlutterFlow and Bubble get lumped together, but they solve two different problems. FlutterFlow is mobile-first and compiles to native code you own; Bubble is web-first with a built-in backend. Here is how to pick the right one for your product.
FlutterFlow and Bubble get lumped together a lot. Both are visual builders. Both promise to get you to a working app faster than hiring a full dev team. Past that, they're solving two different problems, and picking the wrong one costs you months, not days.
Here's the short version. FlutterFlow is mobile-first, built on Google's Flutter framework, and compiles down to real native code. Bubble is web-first, runs on its own proprietary engine, and was built for complex web apps and SaaS logic long before mobile was part of the conversation.
If you already know your product lives primarily on a phone, that one distinction settles most of the decision before you read another word.
FlutterFlow generates real Flutter and Dart code under the hood. Your app compiles to true native iOS and Android, not a website wearing an app icon. Animations run at native frame rates, device features like camera and biometrics work the way you'd expect, and the app behaves like something a Flutter developer hand-coded, because in a lot of ways, it is.
Bubble was built as a full-stack web platform first. It comes with a built-in database, a visual workflow engine, and a large plugin library that makes complex business logic genuinely fast to wire up. Bubble did add a native mobile builder in late 2025, and it's a real step forward, but as of this year it's still in beta and noticeably less mature than what FlutterFlow has been shipping natively for years.
We're not going to pretend Bubble doesn't have real strengths, because it does.
If your product is genuinely web-first and the mobile experience is secondary, Bubble is a legitimate choice. We'd rather tell you that upfront than pretend one platform wins every scenario.
If your product is a mobile app first, or you expect it to become one, FlutterFlow is the faster, safer path. You get native performance from day one and you're never locked into a platform you can't leave.
If your product is a complex, web-first SaaS tool where mobile is genuinely secondary, Bubble's workflow editor and built-in backend can get you moving fast, and that's a legitimate reason to choose it.
The platform decision and the team decision aren't really separate choices though. The best platform in the world still needs a team that knows how to use it properly, ships clean architecture from day one, and doesn't leave you with a rebuild in eighteen months. That part matters more than the tool.
Talk to us about what you're building. We work in both FlutterFlow and Bubble, and we'll tell you honestly which one fits your product, not just the one we'd rather sell you.
